Sounds like a bad ear infection. This is just my opinion, since I have dealt with this issue in the past. I had a male that had one ear almost completely closed and you could not see the canal. My regular vet told us that he would most likely need surgery as it was so bad. We did not want to do that and took him to our animal dermatologist. He prescribed heavy dose of antibiotics and mixed us up some ear drops, Baytril Conofite...we used the antibiotics and drops and after a couple of weeks there was a major difference. My regular vet could not believe his eyes. The drugs cleared the infection and the drops helped open the canal. We ended up using the drops on a limited basis for the remainder of his life but we never had ear issues again. Perhaps a trip to a veterinary dermatologist is in order. They deal with a lot of issues, not just skin. I took my dogs there for skin, ear, lumps and bumps, etc. They took fantastic care of our dog during his life time. I hope this information helps you.

Is it the ear canal or the ear flap?
Either way you need to consult a Vet.
