Source for generic cyclosporine?

I need the Cyclosporine Oral Solution. Not the pills or ointment. The liquid. I can only find it in Canada... I have a prescription for my cat.

He has been on this most of his life. I just went to refill and they say that the generic is no longer available, and is now only available in brand name Sandimmune. Which is $415 for a tiny bottle. Cowboy needs it to stay alive. sad.gif

Which brings me to 2nd question: is it generally safe to buy prescriptions for less in Canada from the US from reputable online companies?

Thanks,
Dawn

PS>

Maybe I should add that I buy my drugs here now because I have AARP Prescription coverage but unfortunately I reach the donut about Aug or Sept and then I pay horrendous prices, so its tempting to go out-of-country again! When I was on chemo my insurance picked up some of the worst costs, things like one pill for $500 and one injection for $1500+...and these were monthly repeats Ugly.

Sandimune

I feel your pain! Its been many years since I worked in the ophthalmic vet practice but we used Sandimune and it was about $350/bottle 15yrs ago! I used to mix the 1% and 2% solutions in our office for distribution to our patients. A word of caution here before talking about distribution: Use great care with this drug as it is most-often rx'd for organ transplant patients, and its quite potent. I wore rubber gloves and a mask so as not to take in any to my own body while still using great care (sterile measuring instruments, etc). I'm serious.

As for using out-of-country pharmacies, I did for a great many years...Canadian ones with 800-phone numbers here in USA. Now the preponderence of them are in India, again with US phone numbers. Some of my drugs were shipped from Israel or Australia on occasion but the order was placed with a Canadian firm. I was completely satisfied with the products, no health ramifications. Of course pills costing $.50 to $3.50 each is no match for one bottle at $400+. Good luck!
