Stella is three weeks out from her ACL repair, and has been recovering very well until last night. At her last check up she already had full range of motion and was using her leg very well. Dr. said to start having her walk inclines a few times a day. we have been walking a short hill 3x daily for a week with no problems. yesterday evening i noticed she was really favoring her leg again, and today she does not want to put much weight on it. she is gated into a small area and only has on leash activity. i'm very worried about this set back. could she have some how re-torn it? or maybe just muscle strain? any insight would be appreciated. thanks!
Re: Q about stella's ACL recovery
I can tell you when I went through an ACL surgery my dog was confined for 6 weeks until we started therapy. I would check with you vet and let them know what is going on and see what they tell you. I hope that it has not reinjured. Best of luck.

Hi I can tell you this
Jackson is about 4 weeks out. He was also having head tremors this past week, so I was putting corn syrup in his food to help with them, whch it did. the only problem was that Jackson was very anxious to get his food and my daughter turned her back to get the bottle of corn srup and yep Jackson jumped up onto his crate, and promptly fell off onto the floor. He favored his leg that night and I ran him to my regular vet in the am. She looked at him and siad she could feel the stitch but that didn't mean he didn't injur himself, so I put him back on the rimadyl dor two days and he is doing better. But my orthopaedic vet doesn't want him to do anything yet, not even walking for short walks, just out to pee and back into his crate. He wants him to build up scar tissue . So I would rest her for a couple of days, probably crate and if you have any meds left over, try that.

If she hasn't been jumping or wrestling its probably strain
and it may be that walking has pushed her along a little too quickly...give her 2-3 days rest/low activity and see if its any better. If not the vet should be willing to recheck it for you without charge, IMO.
