Newborn pup & Pneumonia
Submitted by Anonymous on April 20, 2010 - 11:19pmDoes anyone have any experience with pneumonia in a 10 day old pup , she's being treated with Naxcel powder antibiotic ,0.6ml injected twice daily. Also tube up her nose to administer continuous oxygen, nebulizer and decoupage every 4 hours. Is this antibiotic commonly used ? Any other suggestions or tips very welcome.

Have never used it
or heard of it. Looked it up and its a cephlasporin class drug stated by the manufacture for treatment in urinary tract infections?
I like Albon and Baytril as a last resort drug..many vets wont use Baytril on a young puppy because of the side effects but when you have no choice in a do or die situation..I will take the chance.
