lump in throat

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this with there bully..I just noticed that my Ginger has a lump about the size of a golf ball on the throat area it looks like she swallowed one and it got stuck ( thats just a example ofcourse)...I made a appointment for her to see the vet thursday morning but the suspense is killing me...Does any one know what it could be? She does seem a little sad but i dont know if im reading too much into it.she doesnt appear to be in any pain. Ginger is 2 1/2 yrs.. any thoughts please???? thanks for reading

Re: lump in throat

Is the lump to the side of the throat below the jaw? It could be an clogged salivary or sebaceous gland. Also sometimes the lymph nodes can be clogged especially if they are fighting off an infection. Best is to go to the vet and have them do a needle biopsy. I have a male that has had an impacted salivary gland for years- never bothered him and just gets put on antibiotics every now and then. Hope this helps!

im sorry to hear of your loss, that must have been terrible for you... I doubt its a toy..I keep a very close inventory on the toys as I have 3 bullies..She doesnt gasp for air and her eating habits are the same as always.Im thinking more on the lines lymphnodes. She has been laetly been doing this thing were she continuously sticks her tongue out back and forth till she forms foam on her chin..Its just one lump and you can grab it but can tell its connected to her body.. Thanks for reading and for your advice i probably will just take her in to the er since reading your comment.. thank you again..

my pekingnese mix had those

It could be she swallowed her toy and it got stuck, I would take to the ER to have it xrayed or scan it to make sure it's not a toy stuck there and it's affecting how she breathes. My dog had a few lumps the size of marbles on her throat area and when I touched it, she doesn't cry. After the tests and byopsies, the vet said she had lymphnodes cancer, within a week she would have these similar bumps on her stomach area and we was okay at first but toward the end of the week(Fri), she was gasping for air and we had to put her to sleep at the ER hospital around 10pm. I still miss her alot, she was my first dog when I was 16.
