Judy- I'm sorry it has taken me so long to post these. It is hard to keep Ajax still enough for a good picture .
Here are the before and after pics of his stenotic nares surgery:

The light brown area on the top left of his nose is the scab. The doctor expects it to come off soon and heal completely so people won't even be able to tell he had surgery.
Hi, David. Answers to your questions...
We went to the vet because there were noticeable symptoms (sleep apnea and loud snoring). They only did the nares because they thought the fact that they were pinched was putting a lot of pressure on the palate and the throat, causing the loud snoring and sleep apnea. The symptoms are noticeably reduced. I haven't noticed the sleep apnea at all and, although the snoring still exists, it is quieter. I hope this answers your questions. Let me know if you have any other questions. I am not an expert, but I am happy to share everything we have learned from our experience. By the way, I love the pictures of Roxy and her stories. She is so cute!

Thanks Trisha...
...for the information AND the kind words!
Your pics were very helpful, because it gives me something to compare Roxy with. Her nostril openings are very similar, if not narrower, than your before pics. I have definitely noticed the apneic episodes, and the snoring is getting worse. She never mouth breathes though.
Anyways, thanks again. It definitely gives us a little more footing on which to base a decision.
Cheers!
Have a Great Day!

Hi Trisha...
...i've been following the stenotic nares posts a bit, because i'm thinking our Roxy might have issues, if not now, probably later on.
My questions for you, if you wouldn't mind (or anyone else with experience with this issue):
1. Did the vet tell you you had an issue, or were there noticeable symptoms?
2. Did you notice mouth breathing? Was the snoring exceptionally bad? Any other symptoms?
3. Did they only do the nares, or did they look at the soft palate as well? Anything done there?
4. Are the symptoms noticeably reduced or gone now, after the procedure?
Thanks for your comments!
Ajax loooks gr8!
