i waited for years to get a bulldog...and i did my research and i bought from a breeder and my boy is from a top ten,,,,and guess what he is a bulldog...he has health issues...he has cost alot of money in different health problems...but you know what i went into buying a bulldog knowing that most breeders did not do alot of health checks....most vet almost 95% have a neg view of the bulldog and their health problems....but i wanted one and was not surprised by the health issues i deal with nor the non responsive attitude from the breeder who is a memeber of bca.... i have adopted several bulls from rescue and have charlie a sb boy....and when people tell me how much they want a bulldog i tell them the truth...its not always a easy road to travel their are more health and expensive owning a bull than any other breed i can think of....but now that i have decided this is my breed and i love it to death....well i have to at this time except the health and hope that more responsible people will breed for a healthy bulldog... sorry for your troubles...but things will even out for you and mason....

I was lied to and we have a guarantee. The point remains this IS NOT my first bulldog and it was not that "I just had to have one". He was not just bought on a whim. If she was honest from day 1, I never would have bought him. Yes he is very well loved but the fact remains there is a contract in place and my opinion on this situation will not change. I posted facts and know this breeder is not as she claimed or as I was advised by others. They are just as stunned as I am. My other breeders would never just disappear on a dog they sold and would call to see how he was doing ect. I had no other problems with my other bulldogs, my brother has none with his and my father the same. It's a long story that I wish not to post further to what is already known but I felt others should be aware. If there any any questions and if someone wants the full long story instead of just short facts, please email me.

he was seen by 4 vets so its not just one vets opinion. At 10 months of age this is a lot of stuff and is not common for any breed. I have discussed this with other bulldog breeders quite a bit and have been told they agree this is not normal and I am not being unresponable in seeking she take responsiblity to some extent. I was not told the dogs had the same top after I asked that direct question. If the parents were related in anyway , shape or form with my father there as a witness that this was asked and I was told no. If I was told the trutgh I wouldn't have bought him. I phoned around and asked about this breeder to a few people, some people I didn't even know. Yes we have a contract but as I stated, my emails are ignored. I didn't say the prolapse was a bulldog thing because I know that it is not and is a male dog thing. I know and have spoken with others that have the same problem.

You may breed 2 of hte healthiest dogs in the world and still get a bad apple. If you read your guarantee im sure it will state that a puppy will be replaced if they have a genetic life threatenting defect. It prob also says the dog will be returned to the breeder for the contract to be in effect. (i dont agree with this type of guarantee)
I hope you find out what is going on with Mason, i also suggest you get a 2nd opinion from a bulldog vet. A prolapsed urethra is a hormonal thing, vs a genetic health defect in a puppy. Also bulldogs are not the only breed to get them, its a male puppy who is full of hormones.

The health issues you describe to me are not all that unusual. Not every bully will have health issues, most will not if from a reputable breeder. I cannot see too much wrong with your breeder other than not following up with you on some issues and the one about no microchip. If this is a poor breeder I would say you most likely did not do your homework in the first place. The fact that parents were half sibs may be o.k. I am not a breeder but know line breeding is done a lot and is preferred by most. If you are knowledgeable about breeding practises then perhaps this is an issue. (perhaps not) My 5 yr old boy has had a multitude of health issues, came from a very ethical breeder. It just sometimes happens. They are not gods. Did your breeder do health clearances? I have owned a bully who is the sweetest creature on earth but has had probably well over $20,000.00 in vet bills to date. My breeder followed up, took responsible action and I would buy from her again in a heartbeat. We are in Ontario.

As a breeder the breeding with the parents is not uncommon
