I have a 12 year old who was on Clavamox about 2 weeks recently for a respiratory infection. She finished meds about 1 1/2 weeks ago. A few days ago she started having what appeared to be loose stools with blood (was orange, not red or black like you would expect). Now has mucous also in stool. We are going to vet in AM but in reading about Clavamox, I found a reference to pseudomembranous colitis, which occurs when the Clavamox kills certain bacteria and causes an overgrowth of others. Of course I am hoping it is something like this and can be stopped. Has anyone have anything like this happen? She actually acts like she feels fine, eats well, etc.
give some yogart with live active cultures
or if you have a feed store get some beneback you can also get it at petsmart or petco, the feed store has it in larger size like for a horse and its better priced.
