Riley is going to be 5 in December, he has always had skin issues and goes through times with red ears and licking his feet. I usually take him to the Doc and they treat his symptoms but never try to find a solution. Well we went today with the usual hives, red ears and itchy spots on him, but this time our Vet was out and a partner filling in. He suggested yes to treat him but also recommended I search for a possible cause and said to change his food. He recommended a blend of Turkey and potatoe does anyone know where I can find this, what brands anyone has successfully used?
Thanks Patty
(and Riley)
I had the same issue with Gus here...
I used the canin bulldog 24 food and had great luck with it. he does not chew his paws anymore and his skin cleared up nice too

Patty:
I have a 2 year old male (Winston) and a 3 year old female (Cleo). Winston is not near as bad as Cleo, but I can tell you this, the Vet bills have been out the box and like you, I did not just want the usual steroid shots. I have been through all the vet prescription foods and they still react, especially Cleo. Both Cleo and Winston mean a great deal to my wife and I and we spare no cost to keep them healthy. I did a lot of research and decided to give Canidae No Grain Salmon a try, and I have had nothing but success. Both Cleo and Winston love it, and NO itching what so ever. I have felt such a relief since I began feeding them the Canidae. Here is their web site http://www.canidae.com/dogs/grain-free-salmon/dry.html) I hope this will help you and Riley as much as it has help my gang. Canidae also has a poltry no grain.
Good Luck,
David
