Hi everyone,
Ace is almost 6 months old.
Tuesday night, Ace woke up at 2am (so Wednesday morning), whining to go out. I let him out and he exploded. He came back in and went right back to sleep. At 6am, Wednesday morning, I fed him. He ate a little bit, then went and sat down, then ate a bit more, sat down. My kids leave in the morning for school - so at 9am, he was put in his kennel. During the day, he exploded again in his kennel. That evening, we attempted to feed him again, he ate about half and drank a ton of water. About an hour later, he threw part of it up.
Wednesday night - he woke up at 11pm - and went outside - diahrea again.
Thursday morning - he threw up the rest of his food. I didn't feed him this morning. Rather, we have just put out water for him. My son is home with him today and he is sleeping a lot. He did get up just a few minutes ago and went outside to pee. He is now enjoying the sun in the yard.

Saturday we went to the Dogtoberfest downtown and I am wondering - the water that he drank - could he have gotten a but and it took this long to hit him?
Do I try to make him some rice this evening and see if he will eat that?
When is it time to take him to the vet? The vet is 1.5 hours for us.
Any information you can give would be greatly appreciated.

He is getting better....
Hi everyone,
He only had one bought last night, after having his first bowl of rice and it was a half and half situation. So the water diet has been working. This morning, he had another bowl of rice and seems to be holding that just fine and when he went out - it was more solid. So I think we have nipped this in the butt right now:)
I believe he got something from the dog fest. He was drinking water from the mini swimming pools they had and having a blast and I know he is not used to that at all. As well - the kids are now well aware NOT to give him any people food.
Thanks for all of your help everyone. It is so greatly appreciated!

Did you just open a new bag of dog food?
What food are you using? My dogs were sick a couple of weeks ago and it was caused by a bad sack of dog food.

Re: Ace - throwing up and diahrea
i would do the boiled rice and see if that helps sometimes their tummys are upset but if you keep giving them the dog food it just goes right through them i know from experience my dog will eat anything and sometimes she will have diahrea we try it for a few days and gradually introduce the food with the rice and she is good
Good luck

when ever in doubt to go to the vet i will take the good old temp...any thing over 102.5 is low grade and i watch once its 102.9 were off to the vet....i would just offer water if he holds that down your ok...if he is vomiting water go to the vet....thats not a good sign....he could of picked up bug at his pinic...food is less important than water....fasting for 24 hrs gives the tummy a time to rest...
hope this helps....
